Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cranberry Mixture

In a saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, water, and granulated sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat and let it simmer until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Strain the Mixture

Remove the saucepan from heat. Strain the cranberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the solids. Stir in the fresh orange juice and mint leaves.

  3. 3

    Freeze the Granité

Pour the strained mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer. After about 30 minutes, stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for about 2-3 hours, or until the granité is fluffy and has a snow-like texture.

Serving

  1. 4

    Serve the Granité

Scoop the granité into chilled serving glasses. Garnish with orange zest and additional mint leaves, if desired. Serve immediately.
