Preparing the Calamari

Coat the Squid
In a bowl, season the flour with salt and black pepper. Dip each squid ring in the flour, shake off the excess, then dip into the beaten egg, and finally coat with sesame seeds.

Fry the Calamari
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the coated squid rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Preparing the Tempura Vegetables

Make the Tempura Batter
In a bowl, mix tempura batter mix with cold water until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fry the Vegetables
Dip the mixed vegetables into the batter and fry in hot oil until crispy and lightly golden. Drain on paper towels.
Making the Miso Aioli

Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, miso paste, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt to taste until smooth and well-combined.
Serving

Plate the Dish
Serve the sesame crusted calamari alongside the tempura vegetables and a generous dollop of miso aioli for dipping.
