Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. You can add a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, making sure it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken breasts into the hot oil. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried chicken from the oil and drain on a paper towel. Serve with sweet pepper jelly drizzled on top and crumbled goat cheese.
