Method

Prepare the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Brew the Tea

Once the water is boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai black tea leaves, 1 whole star anise, and 3 whole cloves. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Sweeten the Tea

After simmering, remove the pot from heat and strain the tea into a bowl or pitcher to remove the tea leaves and spices. While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until it is fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature or refrigerate until chilled.

Prepare the Creamy Topping

  1. 4

    Mix the Cream

In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of evaporated milk with 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and evenly mixed.

Assemble the Drink

  1. 5

    Serve the Tea

In a tall glass, add about 1 cup of ice cubes. Pour the cooled Thai tea over the ice until the glass is full, leaving some space at the top.

  2. 6

    Add the Cream

Gently pour the creamy milk mixture over the tea, allowing it to float on top for a beautiful presentation.

  3. 7

    Garnish (Optional)

For an optional garnish, add fresh mint leaves on top. Serve immediately with a straw or stir to mix before drinking.
