Method

Preparation and Baking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine feta cheese, ricotta cheese, chopped dill, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filo Dough

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Unroll the filo dough and cover it with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out. Take a sheet of filo, brush it with melted butter, and layer another sheet on top. Repeat this process for 5-6 sheets.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Tyropita

Place a portion of the cheese filling along one edge of the layered filo. Fold over the sides and roll the filo tightly to encase the filling. Place the rolled pastry seam-side down on a greased baking tray. Repeat with the remaining filo and filling.

  4. 4

    Bake the Tyropita

Brush the top of the rolled tyropitas with melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
