Waffle Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Yeast
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 3
Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the warm yeast mixture, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5
Let the Batter Rise
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the batter rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- 6
Preheat Waffle Iron
While the batter is rising, preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- 7
Cook the Waffles
Once the batter has risen, pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy, usually about 4-5 minutes.
