Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Prime Rib
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and fresh rosemary.
- 2
Season the Roast
Rub the prime rib roast all over with olive oil, then generously apply the seasoning mixture to the entire surface of the meat.
- 3
Roast the Prime Rib
Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- 4
Lower the Oven Temperature
After 20 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting. Cook for about 1 hour for medium-rare or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C).
- 5
Rest the Meat
Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 6
Serve
Slice the prime rib and serve with beef broth drizzled over the top, if desired.
