Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, combine the yellow mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add the water and cover. Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
- 3
Shred and Sauce the Pork
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix in the barbecue sauce. Let it warm for an additional 30 minutes.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Combine the Ingredients
In a large bowl, mix together the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 5
Chill the Coleslaw
Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwiches
On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a generous portion of the pulled pork. Top with coleslaw and add pickles as desired. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bun.
