Method

Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork ribs.

  3. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  4. 4

    Glaze with BBQ Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top foil, and brush BBQ sauce generously over the ribs. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.

Onion Rings

  1. 5

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the onions into 1/2 inch thick rings and separate them into individual rings.

  2. 6

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in cold water until the batter is smooth and thick.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off. Carefully place the rings in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
