Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Season the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil and season it with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Ensure the pork is evenly coated.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add apple cider vinegar and chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the juices.
Assembling the Stackers
- 4
Toast the Buns
Optional: Lightly toast the burger buns on a grill or in a toaster for added texture.
- 5
Assemble the Stackers
Place a generous portion of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Drizzle with barbecue sauce, then add coleslaw and pickles on top. Close with the other half of the bun.
- 6
Serve
Serve the pulled pork stackers warm, accompanied by extra barbecue sauce on the side if desired.
