Prepare the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.

Add Liquids and Spices
Pour the BBQ sauce and chicken broth over the pork. Sprinkle brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper on top.

Cook the Pork
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
Sandwich Assembly

Prepare the Buns
Split the buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.

Assemble the Sandwich
Scoop a generous portion of pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun. If using, top with coleslaw and pickles.

Serve
Place the top half of the bun over the fillings and serve immediately.
