Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Layer the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the pork.

  3. 3

    Add Liquids and Spices

Pour the BBQ sauce and chicken broth over the pork. Sprinkle brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper on top.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pork

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  5. 5

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.

Split the buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 7

  3. 8

    Serve

Place the top half of the bun over the fillings and serve immediately.
