Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patty

Form the mixture into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the burger patty on the grill/skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Add Pulled Pork and Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place the pulled pork on top of the burger patty and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Bun

While the cheese is melting, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Spread BBQ sauce on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Place the burger patty with pulled pork and cheese on top. Add pickles and lettuce leaves, then top with the other half of the bun.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot with additional BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
