Beef Brisket

Method

Prepare the Beef Brisket

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture all over the beef brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

  3. 3

    Shred the Beef

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Using two forks, shred the beef into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare the Sides

  1. 4

    Make Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Toss until the coleslaw is well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

  2. 5

    Cook Green Beans

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for about 5 minutes until tender. Drain and return to the pan. Add butter and season with salt and pepper to taste, stirring until the butter is melted.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 6

    Serve the Brisket

Place a generous amount of shredded brisket on each bun. Top with additional sauce from the slow cooker if desired.

  2. 7

    Plate the Sides

Serve the coleslaw and green beans on the side of the brisket bun. Enjoy!
