For the BBQ Rub
Method
Preparation of the BBQ Rub
- 1
Mix the BBQ Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Preparing the Ribs
- 2
Apply the Rub
Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs. Generously rub the BBQ rub all over the ribs, ensuring it gets into all the crevices. Let it sit for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
- 3
Preheat the Smoker
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) using your preferred wood chips for smoking, such as hickory or applewood.
Smoking the Ribs
- 4
Smoke the Ribs
Place the seasoned ribs in the smoker bone-side down. Smoke for approximately 4 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature of 225°F (107°C).
- 5
Apply Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey Mixture
After 2 hours, mix the apple cider vinegar and honey in a small bowl. Every hour thereafter, spritz the ribs with this mixture to keep them moist.
