Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine the minced lemongrass, crushed peanuts, chopped chilies, hoisin sauce, chopped basil, minced garlic, grated ginger, vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a marinade. Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Cook the Beef

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the flank steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. After resting, slice the flank steak thinly against the grain.

  4. 4

    Serve

Serve the sliced beef with additional chopped basil and crushed peanuts on top, if desired. Enjoy with steamed rice or fresh vegetables.
