    Marinate the Tuna

    In a bowl, combine the chopped shallot, minced garlic, turmeric powder, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. Add the ahi tuna steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

    Sear the Tuna

    Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Sear the tuna in the hot skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outside is golden and the inside is rare.

    Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the tuna into thin pieces.
