Marinade and Steak

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Marinate the Steak

In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

2

Add the Steak

Place the hanger steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C).

4

Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness.

5

Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a more tender and juicy steak.

6

Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin slices. Arrange on a serving platter and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
