Method
Preparation
- 1
Melt the Butter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 2
Mix Sugars and Eggs
Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract into the melted butter. Mix well. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- 3
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- 6
Bake Brownies
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
