Method
For the Mozzarella Logs
Prepare the Cheese
Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and place them on a plate. Freeze them for about 30 minutes to firm them up, making them easier to bread and fry.
Set Up the Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Take each frozen mozzarella stick and dip it first in the flour (coating it completely), then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this for all cheese sticks.
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). A frying thermometer can help you measure the temperature.
Fry the Mozzarella Logs
Carefully place the breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve
Serve the mozzarella logs hot with marinara dipping sauce.
For the Marinara Dipping Sauce
Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Serve the Sauce
Once the sauce is ready, remove it from heat and serve alongside the mozzarella logs.
