Preparation

1

Prepare the Green Beans

Wash the haricot vert under cold water. Trim the ends of the green beans using a knife or kitchen scissors.

2

Toast the Almonds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the sliced almonds. Toast them for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until they are golden and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking

3

Blanch the Green Beans

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. After a few minutes, drain again.

4

Sauté the Green Beans

In the same skillet used for toasting the almonds, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the blanched green beans and sauté for about 5 minutes until heated through.

5

Combine and Season

Add the toasted almonds to the skillet with the green beans. Season with salt, black pepper, and drizzle with lemon juice. Toss everything gently to combine and serve warm.
