Method

Cheese Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Cheese Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh basil. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.

Dough Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add eggs and olive oil. Gradually mix in water until a dough forms. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, then stir in fresh basil before serving.

Assembly & Cooking

  1. 4

    Assemble and Cook

Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface until thin. Cut into squares and place a spoonful of the cheese filling in the center of each square. Fold the dough over to form a triangle, sealing the edges tightly. Boil in salted water for 5-7 minutes until they float. Serve warm with marinara sauce drizzled on top.
