Preparing the Beef Patty

1. Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt, 0.5 tsp of black pepper, and 0.5 tsp of garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

2. Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

3. Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

4. Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until browned, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

5. Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt the cheese.
