Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Mix in the melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, then remove and let cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the granulated sugar, mixing until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Add the sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

  3. 5

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center has a slight jiggle.

  2. 7

    Cool and Chill

Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Serving

  1. 8

    Add Toppings

Before serving, top with your choice of fruit topping and whipped cream, if desired.

  2. 9

    Slice and Serve

Carefully remove the sides of the springform pan, slice the cheesecake, and serve chilled.
