Dough and Filling

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, black pepper, paprika, and chopped parsley. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Dough

Divide the rested dough into four pieces. Roll out one piece on a floured surface until thin (about 1/8 inch thick). Cut into squares (about 3 inches each).

  4. 4

    Fill the Manti

Place a teaspoon of the meat filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners to the center and pinch to seal, forming a little pouch.

  5. 5

    Cook the Manti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add the manti and cook for about 15-20 minutes until they float to the top and are cooked through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the manti with a slotted spoon. Serve hot, optionally drizzled with melted butter and topped with yogurt and chili flakes.
