Kibbeh Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bulgur

Rinse the bulgur wheat under cold water. Soak it in warm water for about 30 minutes until it absorbs the water and softens. Drain any excess water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add the ground meat, pine nuts, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and allspice. Cook until the meat is browned and cooked through. Set aside to cool.

  3. 3

    Combine Kibbeh Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the soaked bulgur, the cooled meat mixture, and additional spices if desired. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

  4. 4

    Shape the Kibbeh

Wet your hands and take a handful of kibbeh mixture. Shape it into small oval or football shapes, making a small indentation in the center.

  5. 5

    Cook the Kibbeh

You can either bake the kibbeh at 375°F (190°C) for about 25-30 minutes or fry them in hot oil until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
