For Adana Kabob

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kabob Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, cumin, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Kabobs

Divide the meat mixture into equal portions and shape each portion onto skewers, making sure to press the meat tightly. You should have about 8 skewers.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Rice Pilaf

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly translucent. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.

  4. 4

    Grill the Kabobs

Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the meat is cooked through and has a nice char.

  5. 5

Prepare the Salad and Grill Vegetables

While the kabobs are cooking, prepare the onion salad by slicing the large onion and mixing it with a bit of salt and lemon juice. Grill the halved tomatoes and jalapeño peppers alongside the kabobs for about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Adana kabobs hot with rice pilaf, onion salad, grilled tomatoes, and jalapeño peppers on the side.
