Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened. Add ground beef and pork, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until smooth.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of lasagna sheets, and a layer of the ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers, ending with meat sauce. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
