Directions for Preparing Tiramisu

Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew the espresso and let it cool. Mix the cooled espresso with the rum in a shallow dish.

Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and creamy. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.

Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for a couple of seconds, making sure not to soak them. Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and drizzle with caramel and chocolate sauce.
