Chips

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Chips

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, fry the tortilla wedges in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still warm.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Salsa

In a bowl, dice the tomatoes and onion. Finely chop the cilantro and jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat). Combine all ingredients in a bowl, add lime juice and salt. Mix well and let sit for at least 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  3. 3

    Serve

Serve the homemade chips warm with the fresh salsa on the side.
