Preparation and Assembly

1. Make the Chocolate Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

4. Stir in the boiling water until well combined. The batter will be thin.

5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely.

7. Prepare the Vanilla Crème Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until warm.

8. Whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

9. Assemble the Torre Chocolate

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate.

10. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top of the first cake layer, then place the second layer on top.

11. Cover the entire cake with whipped cream and top with chocolate shavings.

12. Drizzle the vanilla crème sauce over the cake before serving.
