Preparation of Salad
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Prepare the Croutons
Measure out 1 cup of croutons. If you prefer homemade croutons, you can toast some bread cubes in the oven with olive oil and seasoning until golden brown.
- 3
Grate the Parmesan Cheese
Grate the parmesan cheese using a box grater or a food processor until you have 1/2 cup of freshly grated cheese.
Preparation of Dressing
- 4
Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 minced garlic cloves, 2 chopped anchovy fillets, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
- 5
Season the Dressing
Add black pepper and salt to taste. Whisk the mixture until well combined and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assembling the Salad
- 6
Combine Salad Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce. Pour the dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all the leaves evenly.
- 7
Add Croutons and Parmesan
Top the dressed lettuce with the croutons and the grated parmesan cheese. Give it a light toss to combine.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately on individual plates or in bowls. Enjoy your fresh Caesar Salad!
