Method
Miso Soup Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dashi
In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a simmer over medium heat.
- 2
Add Tofu
Cut the firm tofu into small cubes and add them to the simmering dashi. Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes.
- 3
Mix in Miso
In a small bowl, mix the miso paste with a ladle of hot dashi until smooth. Then, add it back to the pot. Stir well to combine and let it heat through for another 2 minutes without boiling.
- 4
Add Fried Tofu
Slice the fried tofu into strips and add them to the pot, allowing them to warm up for 2 minutes.
- 5
Prepare Nori and Green Onions
While the soup is warming, slice the nori sheets into thin strips and chop the green onions.
- 6
Serve the Soup
Ladle the soup into bowls, and garnish with nori strips and chopped green onions. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil to taste.
