Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once cooked, let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool to room temperature.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fillings

Slice the avocado and cucumber into thin strips. Shred the imitation crabmeat into bite-sized pieces.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Rolls

Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down. With wet hands, spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top. Place a line of crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber in the center of the rice.

  5. 5

    Roll the Sushi

Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, applying gentle pressure to keep it tight. Seal the edge of the nori with a little water.

  6. 6

    Slice and Serve

Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into 6-8 pieces. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
