Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté the Lamb

In a large pot or dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the lamb pieces and brown them on all sides.

  2. 2

    Add Aromatics

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onion is translucent.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Tomatoes

Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.

  4. 4

    Seasoning

Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Add Okra and Water

Gently fold in the okra and add water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

  6. 6

    Bake the Dish

Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the lamb is tender and the flavors have melded.

  7. 7

    Prepare Rice

While the lamb and okra are cooking, prepare the rice according to package instructions.

  8. 8

    Serve

Once cooked, serve the Etli Bamya hot over a bed of rice.
