Chicken Wings

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken Wings

In a large bowl, mix the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken wings, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In another bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until evenly combined.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Wings

Remove the wings from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each wing in the flour mixture, making sure they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  5. 5

    Fry the Wings

Carefully place the coated wings in the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with French fries and your choice of soup or salad.
