Ingredients for Smoked Brisket Sandwich

Method

Directions for Smoked Brisket Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Rub the beef brisket with the brisket rub, ensuring that it is evenly coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Soak the wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes, then drain them. Place the wood chips in the smoker.

  3. 3

    Smoke the Brisket

Place the brisket in the smoker fat side up. Smoke for about 1.5 hours per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C). Keep an eye on the smoker to maintain a consistent temperature.

  4. 4

    Rest the Brisket

Once the brisket is done, remove it from the smoker and wrap it in aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Slice the Brisket

After resting, slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place slices of smoked brisket on the bottom half of each bun. Top with barbecue sauce, pickles, sliced onions, and coleslaw if desired. Close the sandwich with the top half of the bun.
