Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wild Rice

Cook wild rice according to package instructions. Set aside once cooked.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Season the boneless chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, after removing the chicken, add sliced onions and mushrooms. Sauté until the onions are translucent and mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Place the cooked chicken breasts on a serving plate. Top each with a slice of ham, sautéed mushrooms, and grilled onions. Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese over the top.

  5. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled chicken under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Monterey chicken over a bed of wild rice.
