Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Sticky Rice
Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 30-40 minutes until tender.
- 2
Cook the Meat
In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the chicken or pork and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and let it rest before slicing.
- 3
Prepare the Sauce
In the same skillet, add soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and chili flakes. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 4
Cook the Vegetables
Add the assorted vegetables to the skillet with the sauce. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- 5
Serve the Dish
Plate the sticky rice, top with the sliced meat, and pour the vegetable sauce over it. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
