Fries

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin, even strips to form the fries.

2

Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

3

Drain and Dry

After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry using paper towels.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the fries to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

6

Season the Fries

While still hot, sprinkle the fries with salt to taste.
