Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream together honey and softened butter until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract and milk. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- 2
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan.
- 3
Prepare the Baked Apples
While the cake is baking, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Place them in a baking dish and bake in the oven for 20 minutes at the same temperature until tender.
- 4
Serve
Once the cake has cooled, slice it and serve warm topped with the baked apples.
