Tea Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 minutes for a strong flavor.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.

  4. 4

    Add Sugar

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved. If you prefer unsweetened tea, you can skip this step.

  5. 5

    Cool the Tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to chill.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the tea over ice in a glass. Add lemon slices to taste for an extra refreshing flavor.
