Entree

Method

Entree

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese (optional)

If making cheeseburgers, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

Prepare Hot Dogs (if making Naked or Chili Dogs)

Grill or boil the hot dogs until heated through, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger/Dog

Place the cooked patty or hot dog in the bun. Top with chili (for chili burgers or chili dogs), ketchup, and mustard as desired.

Side

  1. 6

    Prepare French Fries

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips. Soak in water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.

  2. 7

    Fry French Fries

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, sprinkling with salt to taste.

  3. 8

    Prepare Onion Rings

Slice the onion into thick rings. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into bread crumbs.

  4. 9

    Fry Onion Rings

Using the same oil, fry the breaded onion rings until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
