Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Start by washing the fresh lemons thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.

  2. 2

Cut the lemons in half and juice them until you have about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. You can use a manual juicer or electric juicer.

  3. 3

Rinse the fresh mint leaves under cold water to remove any impurities.

  4. 4

In a medium saucepan, combine the 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. This will create a simple syrup.

  5. 5

Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and add the fresh mint leaves to the syrup. Let it steep for about 15-20 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.

Mixing

  1. 6

After the mint syrup has steeped, strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove the mint leaves.

  2. 7

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher with the mint syrup.

  3. 8

Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Serving

  1. 9

Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired, stirring until dissolved.

  2. 10

Serve the mint lemonade over ice in tall glasses, garnished with mint sprigs and lemon slices if desired.

  3. 11

    Enjoy your refreshing mint lemonade!
