Meat Mixture

For Grilling

Method

Prepare the Meat Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb or beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix thoroughly with your hands until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape Koftas

Take a small amount of the meat mixture and shape it into oval or round meatballs (koftas), about 1 to 1.5 inches in size. Place them on a plate or tray as you shape them.

Grill the Koftas

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Koftas

Once the grill is hot, place the koftas onto the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 70°C or 160°F).

    Serving Suggestions

Remove the koftas from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve warm with pita bread, a side of tzatziki sauce, or a fresh salad.
