Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Mozzarella

Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks that are about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long. Lay them on a plate or parchment paper and set aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station. In the first bowl, add the all-purpose flour mixed with salt and black pepper. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with garlic powder and dried oregano.

Breading

  1. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Take one mozzarella stick and first coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the stick in the breadcrumb mixture, making sure it is fully coated. Repeat this process for all mozzarella sticks.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, it's ready.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve with Marinara

Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
