Directions
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until seasoning is evenly distributed, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round, flat patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
- 3
- 4
Add Cheese
After flipping the patties, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty is cooked to your desired doneness.
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half. Optionally, toast the cut sides in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

- 7
Serve
Serve the cheeseburgers immediately while hot, accompanied by your favorite sides or condiments.
