Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Protein

Slice the chicken breast, beef steak, and shrimp into thin strips. In a mixing bowl, add the protein of your choice (or all three for a combo) and drizzle with olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the proteins evenly and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Slice the Vegetables

While the protein is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips for even cooking.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Protein

In a large skillet or a grill pan, heat some olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated protein and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until cooked through and slightly charred. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed, and add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Return the cooked protein to the skillet with the vegetables. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serving

  1. 6

    Assemble the Fajitas

Warm the flour tortillas in a separate pan or microwave. Serve the protein and vegetable mixture with tortillas on the side. Accompany with sour cream, salsa, pico de gallo, rice, and refried beans.
