Sweet Chili Dip

Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, season the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and coconut flakes in the third.

  3. 3

    Breading the Shrimp

Dredge each shrimp first in the flour, shaking off excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with coconut flakes, pressing gently to adhere.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the breaded shrimp into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  3. 6

    Drain

Remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Sweet Chili Dip Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix the Dip

In a small bowl, combine the sweet chili sauce, fresh lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Stir well to combine.

  2. 8

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the dip and adjust the lime juice or cilantro according to your preference.
