Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cheese Sauce

  1. 2

    Make the Roux

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently.

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Gradually add the milk to the roux, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Cheeses

Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, and cream cheese until fully melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Combine and Bake

  1. 5

    Mix Pasta and Cheese Sauce

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is well coated.

  2. 6

    Prepare Breadcrumb Topping

In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and paprika until the breadcrumbs are evenly coated.

  3. 7

    Assemble

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top.

  4. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

  5. 9

    Serve

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious Baked Mac N’ Cheese!
