Method
Frying the Seafood
Prepare the Breading
In a large bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
Coat the Seafood
Dip the shrimp and oysters into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
Fry the Seafood
Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp and oysters in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Heat oil in a separate skillet and drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil. Fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Preparing Sauces
Make Tartar Sauce
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, relish, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Make Cocktail Sauce
In another bowl, mix ketchup and horseradish together to taste.
Serving
Plate the Dish
Serve the fried shrimp and oysters with hush puppies, French fries, cole slaw, and homemade tartar and cocktail sauces on the side.
